I would absolutely recommend Brooklyn Deli for a fabulous, low key lunch spot. They have soup made fresh, sandwiches, salads, pasta salads and bakery items. The tomato Parmesan soup is wonderful! Creamy and not too cheesy, it’s just perfect on a cold winter day. They also have the BEST cornbread I think I’ve ever had. The service is also great and quite speedy, even when they are busy. This has quickly become one of my favorite downtown lunch spots. P.S. I’ve heard they serve dinner now too!

Though I would have to disagree with the “speedy when busy,” I will concede that the food was worth the wait. Even if that wait was a half an hour. For soup. And a sandwich.

It’s a fun location and everyone came away from the meal full and not at all disappointed in the food.
