I realize writing about Dutch Bros. is akin to writing about Starbucks. But I’ve been continually surprised this last month by the number of locals unaware Dutch Bros. locations can be found from here to Chico to Grants Pass. Eighty five spots in all.
And being a small chain has its advantages: Dutch Bros. was one of only a few coffee vendors open on Memorial Day. So by default it became a stop on the coffee crawl.
At Second Avenue and Washington, Dutch Bros. is primarily a drive through coffee stand. An exterior walk up counter exists, but I doubt it gets much use. As my fellow crawlers and I ordered Dutch lattes and Dutch mochas, I was caught off guard by the fact Dutch Bros. has their own line of dairy products. While surely a subsidiary of a larger dairy, the cartons of Dutch Bros. milk were eye catching. Also surprising? Dutch Bros. uses chocolate milk to make their mochas.
Our coffee arrived in signature Dutch Bros. cups complete with disturbing blue sippy lids. It’s difficult to get pass the lids. It isn’t natural for adults to suck coffee from a cup. And the coffee? Not worth the trouble. All three cups ended up in the trash after only a few awkward sips.
For those interested in this type of thing, Dutch Bros. grand opening last month was used as a backdrop for a few scenes in the new Samuel L. Jackson movie Home of the Brave.

My family and I LOVE Dutch Bros. They have the best coffee in town. Everytime my girls and I go through the drive through the people that work there are just so nice and give excellent service. Their coffee has a great flavor. I drive all the way from the north side to get their coffee, it IS that GOOD! Thanks Dutch Brothers Keep up the great work.

Everyone here at Second Harvest Food Bank loves Dutch Bros. coffee. We order between 10 and 20 coffee drinks each week. The owners and employees are wonderful to work with and we all love drinking their products.

Dutch Bros. is awesome. They have the best service and they remember your name! Which I think is great…they are pretty good with remembering your drink too! I’d definitely recommend them and I can’t wait for the north store to open at Francis & Monroe!

I love Dutch Bros hot chocolate on these cold coastal morning and the young people working there are so up and cheerful with their ready smiles and loud music.

My daughter discovered Dutch Bros. last summer and we have been trying to go there whenever we can. We are both looking forward to the opening of the north store this week!

Most employees at Dutch Bros. are extremely nice. They are to way too nice and they end up coming across as really fake. With that said, they give great service and their coffee tastes good. The blue lids are different, but adults should be able to figure out that you drink from them not suck on them.

New DUTCH BROS on Francis is good. Haven’t been to the original. But I liked the people and like the shop and the coffee was very real. Not sweet like some places. I liked it.

What I love about Dutch Bros. is that you can actually taste the coffee. When I go to Starbucks, I have to double or triple the amount of espresso in my drink to get as much flavor as Dutch Bros.

I am a fan of Dutch Bros. The flavor of the coffee is good and my drink is never over flavored. You just can’t beat $2.25 for a decent double mocha! The people there are awesome as well!

Always friendly folks, and the coffee tastes much better than some of the bigger chains while also being more affordable.

I was so excited to see dutch bros. in town. Coffee that tastes like coffee!! I agree with a prior poster that Starbucks has weak shots, not so with the Dutch boys, They flat out ROCK! and reasonable to boot. They are glad to see me when i go through the drive through and for someone that has actually used the walk up on 2nd, they are prompt as well. Keep pulling the great shots.

Friendly staff who will work hard to provide you with a coffee drink you enjoy. We’re glad they are in our neighborhood.

3 years ago, 2 friends from Eugene introduced me to Dutch Bros. and loved it at first sip! My favorite drink is an iced Kahlua Kicker (1/2 the syrup) which is only $2! So awesome. Because of me, my sisters love it as well. We will drive out of our way, going past a dozen Starbucks for the privilege of having Dutch Bros. Go Dutch…definitely!

As an employee, I may be a little biased but the people I work with continue to amaze me every day, as do our customers. I love everything Dutch Bros. is about. Not to mention all our drinks are delicious =)

Last April my wife and I visited our daughter in Eugene,OR. While there we were introduced to Dutch Bros.
Awesome! Can’t wait for our next cup. In the meantime we order the beans online to be sent to Western Michigan where “Dutch” is a way of life. I want the first Michigan franchise.

Coffee sucked, it was whimpy at best and overly sweetened, it is like the evil overly sugary under-roasted sister of Starbucks.
