No :-( Ron Rudnick's review (Jul 1st 2007)

We have tried to eat at this restaurant on two different occasions. The first time was close to Christmas and it was jammed with a party. They had just opened and advertised coming in for dinner or drinks and dessert to listen to their music. But when we got there we were told it was a private party and ignored, not even being greeted by anyone to explain when would be a better time to come back. We asked for the manager and we were introduced to the owner who explained that they were swamped and please come back another time. We chalked it up to a holiday frenzy.
We tried again in June, early evening before sunset on a Friday night. No private party, just 6 cars in the parking lot. We walked in and were not greeted by anyone until after poking our head around a few corners. A nice young lady who worked there as a waitress and singer told us she “thought” we could come in for just a drink or dessert, but she would have to wipe off a table outside for us (it had rained earlier) Then she sat us outside and brought us a menu and told us she could bring us the creme brulee, but she was only 18 and couldn’t serve us our drinks, but she said the bartender would serve us. After 15 minutes of sitting there with nothing she finally arrived with the creme brulee and still no drinks, no apology for the lack of service. 10 minutes later as she passed by we just asked for the check for the creme brulee. She returned to tell us it was on the house, still no apology or explanation. On the way out we stopped by the cashier who happened to be the owner and we (again) introduced ourselves as South Hill Residents who enjoy and appreciate giving our patronage to the locals and told him that this was our second disastrous attempt to try his establishment. Without much of a glance up from his adding a bill he replied …. “Sorry I got my ass kicked tonight”.

Yes :-) Janessa's review (Jan 19th 2008)

Delaney’s has grown and expanded in the years I have known it. Unfortunately, the current owners are selling—but the buyer may be keeping it as is, let’s hope.

I visited Delaney’s the day after Christmas last month, and the food and service were spectacular. A five-course meal was offered at a flat price for a pick from each of the categories. The price was reasonable and the meal was slow—as it should be in a place like this. You can’t expect to get thru five courses in 30 minutes or less, and the atmosphere is such that you want to slow down from the daily grind and share some good conversation with your party.

The rooms upstairs are beautiful, too.
